How to Avoid Visit to a Doctor

I am not prescribing that you should avoid going to a doctor if you have an illness or fall sick! I am trying to tell you that you should search and probe the ways that would help you to largely avoid sickness and then you would not have to go through the harassment of seeing doctors and undergoing a number of, what could be, needless medical tests.

The world would save a lot of money, effort, resources and above all pain and anguish if the common people, the medical fraternity and the farmers and of course the governments understand that diet and a few lifestyle changes can do much more than medicines or hospitals can. Perhaps it won’t ever happen because the world values business and commerce more than anything else. But have you ever considered that with a little discipline you could easily do everything in your hand to avoid falling sick and may thus save an enormous amount of time and money, not to speak of the harassment, the pain and anguish associated with a medical event?

Since January 2014 doctors in my house haven’t had to do anything for my 78-year-old mother (who is a diabetic and had high blood pressure and can’t walk without help after a femur bone surgery a couple of years ago) except to suggest that two  medicines should be continued. Had I been a doctor, I should have discontinued those two medicines too. I have only tried to make her follow a strict diet. My mother of course doesn’t always want to listen probably because she doesn’t have my clarity of thought regarding what we should or should not eat or my passion to make the doctors starve!!! But I have been able to largely control and fix what she eats now. Of course not everything is in my hand. Obviously I have no control over the use of pesticides in agriculture or on the quality of air we breathe in a polluted city. But I try to buy organic vegetables, avoid the busy roads as much as I can and walk for 30 minutes in the morning when the sun is up and then again in the evening.

Science should work more to tell us what we should or should not eat, what we should not add to our agricultural produce or to the air we breathe. Instead science creates diseases and then tries to cure them by offering medicines. That is not fair, just not fair. And doctors? Well, someone said that they transformed health into illness and illness into an industry! I am sure that is not true of every doctor but I have no doubts that this statement, which is the exaggerated expression of someone’s displeasure about modern doctors, contains a very vital truth. Science doesn’t mean that you will have to constantly think in terms of doctors and medicines when you think of your health. I wish science produced more people like Paul Jaminet! When someone asked me the other day why I don’t eat sweetmeats, I replied that it is because I would do everything I can so I don’t have to visit a doctor. I understand that we may have an illness and may have to go and see a doctor some day. But at least I (and I think everyone else) should endeavour for the rest of our lives to remain fit and healthy so there is no need to visit a doctor.
